Reliability

Our Mission Is to  serve our clients with expertise and caring to maximize quality of living every day.

What We Do

What seniors desire most is to remain independent in their own home and community.

Care in the Home has four types of service that make this goal a reality:

Personal Caregiver Service

Offers bathing, safe transfers, ambulation assist, medication reminders, escorts, meal preparation, homemaking and other non-medical help by a qualified certified nursing assistant or home health aide.

Skilled Nursing & Social Work

Home health service offers registered nurses to manage medications, wound care and other rehabilitative medical needs as well as social work support, covered by Medicare and private insurances with a physician’s order.

Medical Home Visits

Offers an advanced nurse practitioner who makes house calls under the direction of the patient’s primary care physician to help manage routine care and chronic conditions when a patient has a hard time making it to their doctor’s office, covered by Medicare and private insurances

Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy

Offers rehabilitative therapy in the home using state-of-the-art modalities and equipment usually only offered in outpatient therapy settings, covered by Medicare and private insurances with a physician’s order.

Who We Are

History

Care in the Home was founded in 1989 by Ruth Friedman as a private duty home caregiver agency. Over time our organization has grown to include skilled Medicare services such as nursing and therapy. Just this year, we also added Medical Home Visits which provides “house calls” by a nurse practitioner. As our capability to serve our community continues to grow, we continue to focus on our fundamental principles of professional expertise and ethics, best practices in delivering care, and a mission to serve our clients as we would our own family.

Founder and President

Dr. Ruth Friedman, PhD, MSN, RN, received her doctorate from Northwestern University specializing in Gerontology. Her success with Care in the Home comes from the careful selection and training of caregivers and nurse case managers, attention to matching the right caregiver to the right client, outstanding care management practices, and careful, supportive supervision of the caregivers. For the entirety of her professional career, Dr. Friedman has focused on helping older adults attain and retain their maximum independence and is a recognized expert in this field. She is the recipient of the Roselyn Caregiver Award, which is given to a national leader in recognition of their work in supporting the family caregiver.
